The Failure of Reforms
King Louis tries to save the economy. He tries to save it by stopping his over spending on himself and others. He then decides to hire a financial adviser. The adviser tells him to reduce court spending. In other words, don't spend on unnecessary luxuries. The adviser also says they need to reduce taxes on the Third Estate, and make the taxes more equal across the board. They can barely afford to live, let alone pay taxes! And lastly, he said that they need to reform the government. The King then fired him, due to pressure from the nobles and clergy, even though the adviser was right.
